Does anyone have any experience with the Burris Signature HD line of scopes, specifically the 2-10x40 model? I’m trying to decide between that and a Leupold Vx3i 3.5-10 to mount on a Ruger hawkeye. I’ve had good luck in the past with a Vx1 and Vx freedom so the Vx3i was my default choice. What I like about the Burris though is the lower 2x zoom and wider FOV at low power (54’ compared to 29’ in the leupold).
The only thing holding me back on the Burris is that it has a 46mm ocular bell on it so I’m a bit concerned about clearance with the bolt handle. I am currently out of town so can’t check how much clearance my other 77 has between the bolt and scope. If someone with a Ruger 77 could check their scope to bolt clearance and their ocular bell diameter I would really appreciate it.
