Burris E1~opinions please!

Hey guys~I'm considering getting a Burris E1 4.5-14x42 this coming spring, but haven't seen too many reviews on it. Anybody here have an E1? This model? Interested in hearing some first-hand opinions of it.

Also, in looking around..there seems to be some issues with warranty service if required~has that been anyone's experience?

I had an e1 3-9x40 break on a marlin 44 mag shooting bunny fart loads. Won't own another.

I did a bit if research, I was looking at that model vs the Redfield Revenge 6-18. Consensus was the Burris at max power was not the clearest and had very critical eye relief ie... you had to be in exactly the right spot or you would get blackout. I got to examine both in store and those reviews were spot on.
They are both made in the Philippines, which is ok for this level of scope, but the Redfield was optically better at max power and you get 4 points more power.

I like my 3-9, although the rifle it's on just shot targets so far. Wish they'd make a 4-12 on that frame as the 4.5-14 is a fair bit lager. The newer C4 might be worth a peek too, picked up a 4.5-14 in that one for a varmit set-up.

Had a look at them a few times, love the reticle and the optic quality IMO is up there. It does black out quickly but I don't think that's a bad thing. I noticed that if I moved my head left to right it would be the same amount of give from side to side as a diamondback for example, before it blacks out too. THe only difference is how the blackout happens. The blackout on the vortex was more gradual. On the burris you move your head and begin to see blackout, then from there it goes from partial to full blackout much faster. Not sure if that makes sense. Also the blackout line edge is much sharper and darker. Not sure if that means anything, but it gives me the impression of a higher quality picture, but I might be wrong about that. The vortex's blackout looks more like a brown out at first.
