Burris Fastfire II really dim.

I just recently bought a Burris Fastfire II to mount on my SL8 and I have to say I'm pretty disappointed. The dot is extremely dim when indoors, even without lights on its hard to pick up with your eye. I'm going to go outside with it tomorrow when its bright daylight and see what its like but did anyone else find this with theirs? I ripped the Bushnell TRS-25 off of my CZ 858 to use for right now, but I have a funny feeling that this Fastfire will be up for sale in the very near future. Just wondering if anyone else had this experience and if so, what optic did you try out next or what others are in this price range that work well?

I have been thinking of getting the Fastfire III. Dumb question, have you tried putting in a new battery?

Yeah I did, I ran out and got one right away but there was no difference.

The II is self adjusting, did you try it somewhere with more ambient light?

It will work fine outside, the brighter it is the brighter the dot. I actually like that in low light (aka indoors) it doesn't wash out your vision like a lot of red dot sights.
