I read the descriptions for these 2 scopes on the Burris site. What is your opinion of them? Descriptions are fine but I'm looking for some real world experience here. The approx $700 increase for the Xtreme series is a lot of cash if the differences are minimal. If it makes any difference, the scope would be mounted on a Tikka SuperVarmint .308. Thanks.

in general, you will get better glass (less edge distortion, better resolution and coatings), better waterproofing, ruggedised internal, thicker scope tube material, more metal to metal contact in the internal workings.
Unless you plan on bouncing your rifle across the countryside, the modern quality hunting scope is more rugged then any hunter is likely to use.
