burris fullfieldII on a 300 weatherby mag

They're a bit heavier than a comparable Leupold. I believe that the lenses are thicker so there is always a potential of increased inertia during recoil but to be honest I have a Fullfield and a Signature and they're solid scopes I really like them

Good point Freezer Filler. Eye relief is a serious consideration on any rifle chambered for a round with a serious reverse gear. Folks call that cute little arch over a shooters' brow 'Weatherby Eyebrow' for a reason.
I recall a chap who brought me a 300 Weatherby to sight in for him. It wore a cheaper model Tasco 3-9 to which he'd added a huge gob of masking tape wound around the eyepiece as a buffer. His brow was still bleeding when he handed the rig over for me to sight for him. Three or three and a half inches of eye relief are not enough for most shooters of magnum rifles. Don't forget that on many variable scopes eye relief diminishes as you wind the power up.
