Burris laser scopes?

Ya - A guy I moose hunt with has one.

I tried it out the back door of his place and found it hard to get the scope to give me a measurement in a timely fashion. It was snowing that day, so maybe the snow flakes were throwing it off?

He showed up at moose camp and the batteries were dead. Good luck finding cr2 batteries in a northern Ontario town with a population of less than 50. It still worked as a scope, but no range finder.

Personally, I think it is big and bulky. I really didn't like the look and feel of it - All depends on what you want it for I guess...

YMMV

Burris 4-12x42 LaserScope Riflescope

I was watching the hunting channel and was curious about the Burris 4-12x42 LaserScope Riflescope. I guess buying a good range finder would be better than putting all your eggs in one basket. Like a TV - DVD combination with a broken DVD player. It's cheaper to toss a DVD player if it's separate from the TV.

I debated about it then bought a Leica rangefinder instead. Light enough that you won't leave it at camp which was the problem with my 1995 1st generation bushnell 400.

maybe when they develop one that moves the reticle in conjunction with the rangefinder reading so you no longer need holdover I'll consider one.
