I recently purchased a rifle/Scope combo online. The rifle is a Howa 1500 in 300 win mag and the scope is a Burris E1 Fullfield 3-9x40. I have zero knowledge about Burris scopes. Would the recoil of a 300 be too much for this scope? It retails for around $400.

I think you will be fine. Burris has forever warranty. I have a Fullfield II in a 7mm Rem Mag. Holds it zero year after year.

Oh okay thanks for the info. It definitely looks like a nice little scope although I think I'd prefer a 3-12 or a 4-16 on that rifle. Maybe I'll use it for a season and go from their.

Burris might have 'forever warranty' if you live in the USA, but try living elsewhere, and you are on your own. Might not apply to a country contiguous to the USA, as Canada is, but over here in Europe their customer service, from my own POV, is non-existent.
