Burris Scout vs Leupold scout vs (IERS for scout rifle setup here)

So Ive just purchased a new Savage FCM scout, trouble is I now need to pick a scout scope for it! Has anyone out there had any experience with both (or either of) these IER scopes? > Burris Scout 2.75x 20mm
>Leupold for the M8 2.5 x 28mm IER

can you please list pros and cons for both these and tell me what your pick would be? I live in the sticks so I don't have access to either of these scopes to try myself. If you know of a better scope than these two for mounting in a scout setup let me know as well, because money is an issue and bang for buck factor is important as well.:cheers:
 
I have experience with both scopes, and one other, less well known version.
When I purchased a 'T-26' M1 Garand copy, (Tanker) it came with a Burris 2.75 power scout scope, in the initial purchase.
Within less than 60 rounds of 308 winchester, the reticles came loose. (lopsided)
I sent it off to Colorado, to get warranty repair work done. It did come back very swiftly.
I am sure it was a 3 week turn around time.
However, I decided to go with a Leupold 2.5 power scout scope. After at least 400 rounds, there has been absolutely zero issues with the Leupold. In my opinion, the Burris reticles appear to my eyes, way too wide anyways, for 'fine' work.
The Leupold tapered post duplex reticles, appear thinner and normal looking, to me.
Once, I tried an older Redfield "Magnum" 2-6 power, IER handgun scope.
Don't waste your time, the reticles became loosened, sooner than the Burris!
Also at 6 power, one's eyes are just too darn close to ejecting shell casings, and en bloc clip ejection, due to a shorter focal length, as one dials up the magnifying power.
Also, the optical clarity of the Leupold, I think is superior by a noticeable degree. Especially in near dusk conditions.
 
Any of you guys ever use the Leatherwood Hi-Lux ATR LER Scout Rifle Scope 2-7x 32mm? The pricing on them is in the $150 range. What can a person expect to pay for a Burris or Leupold (in good shape) second hand?

I know you should always remember that "you get what you pay for" but dang! all that for freakin $180.00 CAD (incl shipping)!!!
