Burris Short Mag scope.

Well here it is, nice scope, too bad it won't fit the Ruger integral rings on my gun.

Anyone have one of these yet? I have a couple FF2's, and I like them, but the short-mag is more expensive....is this because its a better optic or because its new?

Hello,
These Short mag scopes have been out for a few years now. Not all that new.
I have a Burris Shortmag 4.5-14X32 A/O on my 7mm-8 Rem 700 Mountain rifle. Love it. The Burris shortmag is great for light magnum calabers that kick hard. (Although my shortmag sit's on a light recoil 7mm-08) These short mag scopes do have lots of eyerelief and nice clear optics. I like mine. The only thing i would watch out for? These scopes allow minimal space for horizontal movement (forward & back) on the rings when mounting. Other than that, nice scope for the $

i have a 4x short mag. mounted on a mini 30. lots of eye relief and clear opticts. found i had to mount quite far forward to get a good sight picture. works well in my application and doesn't seem affected by the semi action.

I have a mini 30 as well;) Set a Burris FFII 1.75-5x20mm on it. I hear alot of people have problems going through scopes on the mini 30 & 14. No problems here as of yet. Only has maybe 75 rounds through it since I scoped it. Time and more rounds will tell.
