Burris Signature rings and Universal Mounts - opinions?

Hi all

I'm getting a 30mm Burris C4 Plus scope to mount on a Browning X-bolt Hunter in .270 Win.

I was going to use Browning's own rings but have been looking at Burris's Universal Mounts and Signature rings because of the option of using the Pos-Align offset inserts for coarse scope alignment as well as the plastic inserts to hold and not mark the scope.

I'm after opinions on the Burris Universal mounting system as well as their Signature rings and Pos-Align inserts.

All views welcome with reasons if possible

Thanks in advance.

I don't really want to fit a picatinny rail as I don't think it's the look I want on my rifle (even if I could get one for the X-Lock) so I'm thinking that I could use this system instead of an MOA rail should I want to shoot further and save the scope's internal adjustment.

Thoughts?

I think that my decision is made gents.

No word of dissent so far. Just for info, from the Burris horses mouth, the 30mm sig rings come with neutral and 0.010 inserts for both the front and back and this can give 0, 0.010 or 0.020 and maybe stuff in between when paired with a windage adjustable rear mount. Also, they are the only inserts that are available for the 30mm rings. I guess that the 30mm tube scopes are a bit more forgiving about alignment that 1" (but that is conjecture).

Thanks again all.
