Hi, I'm considering purchasing this scope to go on a .22 Hornet rifle. I for one, like that it has a compact length, about 11.5 inches long. Burris also offers their FOREVER guarantee on all of their scopes which is awesome as anyone who buys their scope even second hand will have it guaranteed forever.
I would appreciate any feedback from anyone who has had experience with this scope or the Burris Timberline line of scopes.Thank you.

I don't have any field experience with one but have looked over a few and really like them. It would be ideal for your application.

You could also keep an eye out for a used Burris compact in that power range. Pretty sure they were the predecessor (sp?) of the Timberline. Great scopes, have a couple of those in the safe.

Never have actually handled one, but...concept-wise...I'm inclined to think these should be an ideal scope for virtually any .22 caliber rifle, the biggest benefit being that it provides parallax adjustment from about 20 yards out to infinity. "Rimfire" scopes are set to something around 25 to 50 yds, and rifle scopes more like 200 yds, which limits the potential of either.

This tidy little scope is just the right size for a .22, and I'd bet it would be a helluva great scope atop a lever .30-30 or the like.

Never heard or read too many complaints about Burris quality.

ive been looking for this exact scope too and having a pretty hard time finding one. i would also like to know where i can get one or if a dealer here can order it.

Burris Timberline or......

I was originally drawn to this particular scope as it was relatively small in length (about 11.5 inches) and the higher magnification range of 14.5 power.
However, I have since studied some of the specs on this scope and found that it has a very small field of view (FOV) at the 14.5 mag level, which translates to a very narrow range when compared some other scopes like for instance he Bushnell Banner Dusk to Dawn 4x12x40 AO and the newer Bushnell Trophy XLT 4x12x40 AO models.
Each of these Bushnells have quite a superior , wider FOV @ the 12 power range than the BURRIS Timberline 4x14.5x40 AO model scope. As well, each of these Bushnells scopes are only slightly longer by 1/2 inch.
The objective lense size is 40 mm , bigger and brighter than the 32 or 33 mm lense size of the Burris Timberline
To me, these Bushnells have the upper hand as I consider the Burris Timberline to have too narrow a field especially considering the possible intended use of these scopes is to shoot at ranges over 100 yards, say between 100 to 200 yards in general.
The Burris Timberline scopes are made off shore in the Phillipines I beleive and assembled somewhat and tested in the USA and carry a FOREVER warranty.
The newer Bushnell Tropy XLT scopes are made in Korea and have a 25 year warranty I believe.
If you have a problem with a Bushnell you can either drop it off over the counter for a replacement at the Bushnell offices in Richmond Ontario or mail it in. No cross border hassels.
The Burris scopes I believe need to be be shipped to USA (hassles?) for warranty repairs
In my opinion, I think the Bushnell Trophy XLT model is a higher end scope over the Banner Dusk to Dawn and the Trophy XLT is a better scope spec wise than the Burris Timberline model. That's just me.
For what it's worth, I purchased a Bushnell Banner Dusk to Dawn 4x12x40 AO (made in Korea)about 12 years ago and it has been a great scope. Mounted on my CZ Bruno model 452 .22lr it has always held dead center and been clear and bright. I guess I'm leaning to the Tropy XLT.

my 2 cents
