I got a rude awakening while examining some Burris scopes recently.
I went to LeBarons to check out two Burris Fullfield II scopes. One was a variable 1.75-5 and the other was a 2.5X fixed power scope. I took both scopes out of their box and was examening them when I noticed that they had different logos of the Burris name, I asked the salesman about this and he thought they might be newer models but wasn't shure, it happened to be the variable that was different. Upon closer examination the unerside revealed a tag that read "Made In The Phillippines" .
I didn't buy the scope for that very reason.
Has anybody else seen Phillippine made Burris scopes?
This is not a good sign, every time something gets outsourced quality usually goes out the window. The next step is over the counter replacements for these things because they are too expensive to repair and it is often cheaper to just replace the scope. Looks like Leupold is the only one who can say our scopes are made in the USA, or can they :?:
