Looking at this scope but not too crazy about price increases?

What else is out there at that price point, with illum. FFP ?

Nightforce NXS 5-22 is only another $6-700 .

Any others out there Bushnell ....Sightron?

A fixed 5 power with 25mm objective for $1700? Not sure of how many there are out there, and with a fixed power it is kind of redundant to have a first focal plane. ;)

Now, if you are asking about 5-25 power scopes, I think I can be of some help. The Vortex Razor HD (Gen 1) 5-20x50 has excellent optics, is rugged, repeatable adjustments, and I'd take one any day over the Burris (based on experience with my Razor HD 1-4, I have nothing specific against the Burris, I've just been really happy with Vortex Razor products). It is in the same price range as the Nightforce.

On the lower end of the price spectrum, there's the Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 FFP. These have decent glass and are really good for the money IMHO (about $1200).
 
I was looking at quality optics for a recent build and was told by some excellent shooters to consider the Bushnell DMR 3.5-21x50 G2 ....what a great scope best reticle Ive ever used.
 
I have a burris xtr2 3-15. I really like it. Turrets are pretty good in all but the coldest weather. Even then they become a but less tactile. The magnification ring is the closest thing to being the perfect tension I've used. I like the mag ring more than the schmidt and benders I've used.
the glass is certainly not S&B quality but it works well. Zero stop works great. I like where the illuminated reticle control is.

I would recommend my burris to just about any one.
