I recently put a bushnell banner 1.5-4.5x32 on my .22 was this a good choice in optics? Is the scope to under powered for 100yrd shooting? And at what distance should I zero it in at?

For a .22 that is anice little scope... I am no bushnell fan but I had one of these and I liked it for the price.... what distances do you plan on shooting?.... is this for hunting or targets?

Mostly for plinking but from time to time would like to use it for rabbit. As for distances no further than 100 yards. This is my first rifle and I'm still learning how to shoot.

That scope will be just fine to start out with and probably keep.
I have a 4 power scope on my 10-22 and its just fine for out to 100 yards.
Mine is zeroed at 50 yrds and i can the holes in the paper with the scope.
I find this to be a good distance to set up the scope since now i aim just a little high
past 50 and a little low at 25.

I had a 12x banner on it originally which is great for tiny targets but really i found it a little excessive since i could see well at 200 yrds but couldnt shoot that far. Which is why i have a .223 now.

If you get tired of the banner treat yourself to a nikon or leupold rimfire later.
