Well I sold one of my pistols to fund an AR project. I stopped in at Epps on my way home from Barrie last week and saw they had a used Bushmaster 16" with the tactical stock for $1299. I got a deposit together and will probably drive down there again on Monday or Tuesday to put my name on it.

A few questions though, are Bushmaster rifles pretty decent? Are parts readily avaliable for them? It seemed like a pretty solid gun to me.

Yes is the answer to all of your questions! Yes it is a decent rifle, yes parts are readily available, and yes it is a solid gun.

You can't go wrong with one of the ABCD rifles. Armalite, Bushmaster, Colt, DPMS. Now, phone them and use your Visa to put the deposit on the rifle before someone else does :)

$$$ is a factor here. I dont have a Visa, im only 20 and never applied for one yet. Also, two of our guys are on holidays this week, the shop sorta needs me here.

*Edited to add:

What time is Epps open until on Sunday? I will take a drive down there on Sunday instead.

I have a Bushy lower... lovely to work with. Easy to build up. Bushy had the contract for the M4's a while back IIRC.

I would buy another one ! You cannot go wrong !

Alright, its settled, I have my $500 together to put a deposit on it, then in two weeks I can go back and pay the rest, and hopefully the transfer will be finished then I can take it home. I will ask them if I can take a pic or two of it when I am down there this Sunday.

Well, I did it. I called Epps on Friday to ask John to set it aside and he did. I drove down today and I put my deposit on it. I can pick it up in a couple of weeks. I cant wait. This is what its gonna look like.

You won't be disappointed. Now are you ready to come to Connaught and try Service Rifle matches ? Shoot your 16" barreled AR for what it was intended to do.

Cheers,
Barney

Ummm Im sorta new to the AR scene  . I thought a flattop has... well a flat top. The one I bought has a carry handle on it, I think its the same model as the one in the pic.
hehe. Me too when I was new to the AR scene... I thought my Armalite wasn't a flat top, but it turned out the carry handle was bolted on ;)
Yummmm. Flat top, so many optics options ;)
