Are these considered just a pistol in terms of the US allowing them to be exported into Canada???

These are no longer being approved to import into canada as far as I have seen on the websites of our sponsors so if you have one great otherwise they are becoming harder to come by.

There's a couple of them for sale on the EE. Looks like the prices are pretty good too. I'd grab one up... If I didn't have one already ;-)
