Just wondering as I have not heard much about this rifle. Any one have one? Apparently it is 40% stronger and lighter than your usual ar15.
I am able to get one at a great deal but have been holding off as I am awaiting word on whether we will get the ACR here in Canada.

My shooting buddy has one of the early one, shoots very well i can hit stationary clay at 100 m with a cheap scope standing up.

I am not sure about 40% stronger, but it is definitely lighter.

I have got the 9mm pistol version with a 7.5" factory barrel and mine has been great no problems plus its super light, just don't go around use it like a baseball.....

The .223 versions have had a few problems structure wise but the 9mm version has not problems at all.

Well I have a very different experience!

My upper receiver cracked in several places after only a couple thousand rounds!

There are several cases of the same thing happening on the interweb.

Dealing with Bushmaster for warranty took 9 months, and all they gave me was a cheque for $600, for a $1400 rifle.

Don't do it!

Good to know.. Thank you for your posts.
I will try to find out more about the ACR and if it will be coming to canada.
Are there any other recommendations for a bushmaster rifle other than the carbon models as I can get a great deal on anything bushmaster but know very little about there products.
Or I could just buy a Stag but that will be $$$.

Bushmasters is pretty much the same as most other utility grade AR makers out there, nothing good or bad about them, it just works.

I have a friend who was issued the Carbon-15 when doing PSD work in Iraq.

He said it was the biggest piece of garbage he'd ever used, and that's after using the SA80 as a RM Commando and the AR15 and MP5 with other PSD companies.

The guy hates - hates - pistols. Once told me that "the only thing a pistol is good for is throwing at someone while you reload your primary, or offing yourself when you've been overrun."

Even with all that, he said he trusted his Glock more than he trusted his Carbon 15.

YMMV, but that's a field report from someone who's fired quite a few weapons in anger.

As for getting a good deal on a Bushmaster - I'm perfectly satisfied with my XM15E2S, and it runs like a dream. Don't screw with the Carbon, get a standard Bushy AR and you'll be more than happy.

Op - Stag is leaps and bounds ahead of the Bushmaster if you ask me! Really depends on how much you wanna spend but the fit and finish on the Stags I have seen is top of the line!
:agree:
FEAR THE DEER!!!
