Anyone heard how the new Bushmaster gas piston carbines are? Looks like the first ones have landed in Canada, and I am curious to see if anyone has played with one, or plans to buy one.

Thanks

Go look on AR15.com instead of asking people who even under the best of luck have probably never shot one more then a few hundred rounds.

These are gonna be restricted because of barrel lenght (16"), but will they really by identified as "AR15 variants" by the RCMP ?

Imagine that piston system in a 20" upper... What would make such "Gas Piston Rifle" any different, mecanically than an XCR or AR180b ? maybe it would be the possibility of putting back a standard AR15 upper in seconds, or maybe it would be the upper and lower receivers which are very similar to a standard AR...

Anyways, I was just thinking this could be the start to the "De-restrict the AR15 project"...

Why does this question come up every day? It is on an AR15 lower. It is restricted. It is marketed by Bushmaster as an AR15 or ar15 variant. It is restricted. Will people please stop asking the same questions again and again.....

Also, it's the lower reciever that's defined as the firearm on an AR15. Consider how it is completely unaffected by adding a gas piston upper, the designation will also be completely unaffected.

Yeah.. sorry. I wrote that post without thinking. The reality came back to me about two minutes after I posted this... I was just day dreaming...

So, i'll just continue to gather my cash for the Masada, the XCR or the Tavor.
