Thinking about putting one of these on my 700VS/AICS 308.

We have an 800m range open now and I'm wondering how far out I can go with the elevation adjustments before I'm topped out.

If needed what downward canting base do I need to increase my sighting range?

Thanks.

Common knowledge says to use a 20 minute base, but with my outfit I still had to shim the rear of the base. Now with the scope dialed right at the bottom (top actually) I am on at 100 yards, so all of the scope adjustment is usable. Why not take your rifle out, dial the scope down, and see where it prints on a 100 yard target, then just do the math to see how much adjustment you need in the base.

The odds of you needing to shim the scope is slim to nil. The receiver would have to be way out of whack. These scopes have 80+ min of elevation adj. You will only need 30 to get to 800yds.

Try the rifle the way it is and if you have 30 or more min of elevation, spend that extra money on bullets. If need be or you want to shoot much further, just use a set of Burris rings w/ inserts.

Perfect. By next summer the range will be out to 1000m ans it looks like the Bushy will work for me all the way out.

Guess it's time to order a scope. To bad I allready sighted the other one in first.

The new PG range has burms out to 800m as of now. 100m for next year along with the new pistol bays.

It's towards West Lake, 20 minutes from down town.
