Thinking of rigging a scope onto my Marilin 336, would the new Bushnell Elite 3500 2-6x32 be a good choice? want a scope that is short with a bit of magnification. Anyone know who carries this scope in Canada for best price?

Thanks,

For anyone with normal eye sight, only low magnification is required for a 336, with any of the cartridges chambered for it. The old quality fixed power scopes like the Weaver K2.5, or the Bushnell Scope Chief of the same 2.5 power, are in my opinion absolutely ideal for a Marlin 336. Some of the assets going for them is better eye relief and great field of view.
For a clincher on this subject, Kamlooky, who is a great devotee of high rating variable scopes, fell in love with the Texas Weaver K2.5 scopes on my Marlin rifles, to the extent that when we pack up to go home I count my rifles, to make sure one of my 2.5 power scoped rifles is not in HIS vehicle!

You won't find anything lighter or less obtrusive on a 336 than a Leupold fxii fixed 2.5x at 6.5 ounces.

The Bushnell 2-6x32mm is a pistol scope. Unless you are thinking to install it way forward Scout-style?

I like the Weaver V3 1-3x20mm on my 1895XLR -

I also like the Bushnell Legend Ultra HD 1.75-5x32mm. Generous eye relief, good clarity and brightness for only 2 notes and change -
