im looking for scopes for my CZ858 and M305 (i have on order) , being its my first scope i didnt want to spend a bundle so i saw these bushnell banner 3-9x50 dawn to dusk on ebay, sold as pair for US$79 + $29 ship.

no US laws will be broken as they are coming from asia.

so what you think about this scope in general/quality? and will it work with my rifles? thanks.

edited: upon further investigation , i decided to spend more for a better quality but have no idea whats good for my rifles.

The banner line is on the low end of reasonably reliable, I have 3 different ones at this point, and will probably add 2 more in the next year. the 50mm objective is probably not really giving you anything maybe field of view. And as a down side you have to mount it really high which is not good for a confortable cheek weld.

I suspect your not saving much if anything over buying local (unless your somewhere in the bush), I would count on another 20$ or so brokerage to get it out of customs. You should be able to get a 3-9x40 local for 100$.

For me when I look at econo glass the less bells and whistles the better, the more addon's you have the less quality is going into the scope over all.

Are you sure it is an actual bushnell, there are plenty of knock offs/production over runs these days.

I missed the "ebay" and "for the pair" bit, if it is an actual bushnel scope then that is a good deal but the is a big if, I see nothing but red flags at this point.

Avoid any "x50mm" size scopes as it requires high rings to clear the bbl. This will in turn require you to lift your head off the comb into an awkward shooting position in order to get a proper view though the scope.

In short ......... THEY SUCK!! :puke:

thanks for your advise, i never thought about the height of the scope before , i figure the bigger the lens the better the light coming in.

i been using iron sights for decades but recent eyes surgery requires me to move to scopes and red dots which is a complete new field to me, im kinda lost.

now about the ebay scopes, i email a fella who bot one and he said its a fake inspite the box says MADE IN JAPAN , however he says it does work but not as nice quality, even for a low end bushnell scope.

yeah, i think i will be buying a better one here at home... many thanks fellas.
