Bushnell copy

I bought a bushnell 6-24 x 50 with illuminated range finding reticle about 6 months ago, bought it thorough online classifieds for $150 thinking I was gettng a great deal, then found out that it was a chinese copy.
Problem is, I finally got to try it out this past week and the windage adjustment doesn`t move, elevation is fine, windage knob clicks but all the way in or all the way out doesn`t make any difference. Tried tapping the side of the scope after each shot but nothing.
I refuse to sell a bad scope,Anyone have any ideas before I toss it into the garbage?

You might try disassemble it but in the worst case scenario take it to the range and try duplicate Carlos Hathcock or this @1:47 (LoL):

Edit: don't think its all possible to fix as the scope should pressurized with dry nitrogen ( at least on a genuine bushnell ) to keep humidity out but once you opened it it might fog up due to temperature change.

Take a loss and try to shoot the snipers eye through the scope ^^^ make a you tube vid and tell the warning about the scope then shoot it

The "through the scope" shot isnt possible with modern optics.. too many lenses and impediments.. deflects and slows the bullet far too much.. think Mythbusters tried it too .. Older scopes like the PO's and fixed power WW2 era scopes are much simpler in construction, would be possble with one of those

How did you find out it was a Chinese copy of a Bushnell?

Bushnell doesn't make scopes. Like many brands they go to companies that have factories in various places and contract to have scopes made to their specifications. Some of those factories are Chinese, others are in Korea, Phillipines, Japan. Did you send it to Bushnell? I am sure they would like to know if a Chinese supplier is selling defective scopes out the back door with Bushnell markings on them.

Buddy of mine bought a Bushnell 3.5-10x50 clone from Hong Kong off ebay. It had the same funky illuminated reticle and curved ranging lines as some of the Mk4 clones. It had the Bushnell name, emblem on one of the caps, and that same strange serial number with four or five identical numbers ending in the letters 'SC'. But I think he only paid about $50 bucks for it.

I saw that episode and am not all that convinced. This attempt was with a 80 grain VLD out of my 22/243 Middlested at 100 yards. It would have given the sniper an eyeful of glass, an early retirement and its just a .22. I need more test scopes.

They turned it down before it was shot. I think I could make it through one with a few tries.

if you need to keep it, use leupold or redfield windage adjustable rings. When the vertical adjustment goes at least you still have good rings.

Watched a Myth Busters once and it was a myth.....the fact of the range and the arc of the trajectory made it impossible.
