Bushnell elite 4200 6-24x50 what are your thoughts

Hey everyone I am just getting into the long range shooting and I got my Savage 10 FCP but ow I need a scope I do have a vortex 3-9x40 but I don't think that will be to good for a .308

I was thinking of the bushnell elite 4200 6-24x50 but have been hearing mixed opinions.

For the money is it a good solid scope and will the reticle have a decente MOA adjustment to It

Any thoughts woul be appreciated :D
 
I have seen a few and they are nice. I personally have multiple bushnell elites and 0 issues.

6-24, 4.5-30, they work well. I personally like bushnell elite scopes.

4.5-30 x50 has more MOA adjustment, but is more expensive.
 
Got one works for me...I have only shot out to 600 yards and have had no problems and still have room for adjustment with the 20 MOA base..for the money seems like a great scope..that being said I have never shot with a Leupold or Nightforce so I don't have anything to compare to..I have friends that swear buy Leupold but u are paying twice the money.

i have also been looking at the Vortex Vipers as well they seem to be preety good just dont have any experiance with Vortex optics do any of you know how they hold up?
 
I have one on my 204 ruger and it works well. My range only goes to 200 yards, but with the 24X, I don't have to get off my butt to check targets.

Works fine for me.
 
people seem to like vortex, I don't know, I have never tried one...

Personally my next target scope for 223 and 300 win will be the elite 6500 tactial 4.3-50x50. 90 moa adjustment. Not much more expensive over the 6-24, and way more drop adjustment (+20 MOA).

Of course the 6-24 would be fine also... it just depends how far you need to shoot.

I personally like bushnell. They are fine, they work for me, and they are half the price of a leupold or nightforce. maybe not as fancy, but I mean, they work fine, really.
 
I have one on my Rem 5R. No complaints in the ~2 years I've had it. I consistently dial it from 100m - 300m and back again. I've noticed no deviations from the data in my DOPE book. Good value for the money.
 
I am very satisfied with my 4200 6-24x50T. I have had it on my .308 with a 20 MOA base for 4 or 5 years and dial to 700m without issue. I shoot this rifle more than all my others, so I've given this scope a thorough workout. I have it mounted on a Mil rail, and have transferred it to other rifles including 300 RUMs and a 7mm RM (with mil rails) without issues. It shoots the square accurately (slightly better than my VX3 LR) and after 1000's of rounds, the 1/4 MOA per click is still accurate and consistent throughout the adjustment range. Playing with the subtension, at slightly under 12 x and 24x each mil reads 4 and 2 MOA respectively, so reticle/turret can both read MOA/MOA - clever to have the mil setting at 12x. For any medium-heavy rifle, I would take bushnell before leupold (way overpriced), or step up and go with a nightforce.
 
I have the 10 FCPK in .223 with a Bushnell Tactical Elite 6245T, 6-24x50mm.
The scope works well and does all a scope can do as far as hunting or targeting.

I have used other scopes that were considered "high dollar/high quality" and were purchased by the agencies solely for the purpose of limiting liability in court cases.

The family of a deceased paper target, deer, bear, coyote, or moose is not gonna question the absolute degree of optical quality nor microscopic repeatability of your Bushnell scope in a court of law.
Most shooters won't be ANY better with a $3500 scope.

Buy what allows you to complete the task at hand.
