I'm trying to decide between one of these and another Leupold VX3 2.5-8. Does anyone have the Bushnell? How is it working for you? How is the clarity and low light performance? Is the eye relief constant throughout the full range of magnification?

i have the bushnell but very little shooting time on it so far. 6" of eye relief means you need to account for some forward mounting scheme. as far as low light, it's 8pm here so i just turned off the indoor lights and with only the monitor giving "light", i can see stuff as well as with the naked eye at 1.25x. so then i took just the scope outside (no rifle) and at 1.25x and at 8x, it's nice and bright. at 1.25x it's basically same as your eye with a crosshair. at 8x a white car or a tree near a streetlight is very clear. edge-to-edge brightness is very uniform at 8x.

i paid 499 for it a few weeks ago at LeBaron.

I was not impressed by the 1.25-8x. The 8x's "eyebox" is pretty bad. Much rather just have a 2.5-10x since the 1.25x is far enough out of 1.1x, losing virtually all the speed.

The Bushnell 6500 1-6x was actually impressive, but it was twice as expensive. But for just under $1k, it's a hell of a scope.
