BUSHNELL ELITE 6500 4.5-30 X 50 MIL DOT - Opinion needed?

I've got one, with tactical turrets. It's fvcking awesome and you can't have it.

I only have 2 high magnification scopes, the 6500 and a Sightron 10-50x60. If I could only keep one, weighing my own needs, I'd keep the Bushnell. The Sightton is fantastic but the Bushnell is more user friendly.

The Bushnell has good glass, positive feeling turrets(no mush), and 100% repeatable. At 5 or 6 years old, I've never had a concern. That said, if something happened to it, I'd probably replace with Sightron 6-24

My shooting partner has a couple of them, although why he does when when he can afford anything he wants is a bit of a mystery. He just mumbles something about getting them cheap and that he can't put Nightforces and Mark 4s on everything. Whatever, he's a big boy and can do anything he wants with his money. He has more guns than he can shoot anyway.

OK, the good. He got 'em cheap.

The bad. Optically they are no hell.

The ugly. Turn the zoom and zero shifts badly on both of them. I won't put up with that for a minute, but he just leaves them at the same power or takes some sighters and carrys on. Odd, but his gun, his money, big boy, his business. Not all shooting is serious I guess.

If it's that bad, why wouldn't he have them looked at? Elite 6500 has lifetime warranty.

Don't know. Probably the same reason why he's dragging his feet to send back a Nightforce that won't return to zero, and a Zeiss that takes 16 MOA to get from 100 to 500. Procrastination.

He can send me the Elite, and I'll look after it. I'll even pay shipping. ;)
