Hey everyone,

Looking to build my first rifle which will be mainly used for shooting paper and maybe in the future do a little hunting. I'm new to all this and have just been reading up on which one to purchase. I decided to pick up a Remington 700 SPS Tactical (I have seen many great reviews and it looks like a great rifle to build upon and learn with). Now I need to decide on my optics. I have found 2 that are in my budget range and they both seem to have good reviews from everyone. I'm not exactly sure what to lookout for so any advice would be appreciated.

Differences:

- Click Adjustment Increments: Bushnell Elite is 1/4 MOA and SWFA SS is 0.1 MRAD.
- Bushnell Elite Field of view +- Magnification 21.6' -3.4' and SWFA SS Field of view @100 yards 7.21 - 34.78
- Exit Pupil: Bushnell Elite 11.1-1.6mm SWFA 2.8 - 11.8mm
- Eye Relief: Bushnell 4' SWFA 4.2 - 3.8in

I'm not sure what these specs would mean for me.

Thanks for any input. I am also open to any other suggestions that would fall into the price range of $600-$900.

You will have a difficult if not impossible time getting the swfa here as they don't have any dealers and don't seem intrested in the Canadian market.
Whatever your selection I would recommend your reticle and adjustments be the same. If your new to long range and haven't spent a lot of time behind scopes you will pick up mils much easier.
In that price range I would look at sightron and used vortex pst in your desired magnification range.
Field of view importance depends on use. If your hunting the bigger the better.
Spend more time looking into reticles and glass quality is alway one of the most important factors.
