I've got a Bushnell Elite scope (E4164B) without any numbers like 3500...4500.or...6500 model

What does the Elite (no model number) scope compare to in the numbered series of Bushnell elite scopes?

They went from 3200...4200...to calling everything elite. That lasted for a year or so....now 3500 and 4500. Elite has now been discontinued, as bushnell has brought out the "improved" engage series....made in the Phillipines which has as its greatest feature, increased corporate profits over Japanese scopes.

I've got an Elite "No Number" 4-16 X 50 on my coyote rifle, Tikka T3 in 22.250. Made in Japan. Actually pretty decent glass, and I do like the simple reticles. Low light is better than many moderate priced scopes out there - although my Nikon Monarch seems slightly better. I have been told that the original Elite scopes such as mine are roughly the equivalent to a scope fitting in the middle of the range of the current 4500 and 6500 in terms of glass and construction quality, from a Bushnell rep.

No buyer's remorse from me on the purchase, it's been a very good performer.

that will be the end of my love affair with the elite

Exactly this ... I'm holding off until I hear of good actually reports from these new series.

I have the E6241 (6-24x) on a .308 target rifle, it's an excellent scope(long though)very clear, and consistent in adjustments(repeatable)
Very versatile as well, it can focus down to 10 yds and has 1/8 click turrets.
Wish they still made them.

Yeah, the future looks dim for Bushnell.
.. thinking they can sell Chinese scopes for $500+.
Who do they think they are, Vortex or something?

I got one of those on probably the best deal I ever scored. 7mmMag Vanguard S2 with that scope for $600 all in. It was on consignment and I had a feeling I knew why the owner wanted it gone....the scope has very little adjustment range, and the Vanguard stocks have a pressure point that affects POI. He probably spent a couple hundred bucks in ammo and never got on paper lol. Both items were like new and retailed for $600 each at the time.
Put a different scope on it, cleaned up the pressure point a little, and the rifle is a tack driver. Scope also sits on my 308 Target rifle now for 100-300m shooting, works very well.
