Just wanted to get some reviews on the FIREFLY reticle from Bushnell. Anybody got one???? Is it worth the extra $35 or is it just another gimmickie piece of junk?

not sure....

I have a Bushnell 4200 2.5-10 with the firefly. It comes with a little flashlight that is less than useless. A standard aaa maglite, puts out almost no lumens. I use my Petzl 4 led headlamp to shine into the scope for a few minutes just before sunset to energize the crosshairs. Seems to keep them bright for a little less than 10 minutes. Considering that last 5 minutes or so of legal post-sunset time, I suppose the lighted reticle could make a difference. Hasn't for me so far, though.

Wow! Thanks for the feedback. I know I was expecting alot more. I'm in my deer stand at least 30min before day break. I was thinking you could charge it at the vehicle before the walk in and be good to go!

If you hunt and when it gets nearly dark but still legal, like when you have a stand in the woods, the animal is a dark outline your crosshairs are black you see nothing. in the dark situations you don't want bright crosshairs they will blind you, a soft glow is great
