I bought one of these for $180. Less than 200 rounds and the damn thing failed. The windage screw would not stay put under recoil of 7.62x39 fire. Kept bouncing to the right. Every mag I would notice this and upon inspecting the windage screw, sure enough, it had spun to a different position. The mount is solid and not a factor. I know every production run has bad apples so I exchanged it for another one. Im giving it one more chance. It is supposed to be shock proof, water proof and is made for handguns, rifles and shotguns. Does anyone have one of these or have had one before and had simillar issues? If it happens again, I was thinking of trying the Trs-25. I need a super small optic for my mount and don't want to spend more than $200. I'm hoping it is just one of few bad apples from the line. But so far I have 2 el-cheapo $60 red dots that have held up better and are still kicking. Just can't use them with this mount.

I have a number of TRS-25's that have been flawless. Send the thing back to Bushnell. Good chance they will fix it for nothing or replace it.

Good to know about the trs. In this case I just took it back to the store and exchanged it at Wholesale Sports. If it happens again though I'll go for the trs. I almost want it to happen again now, lol, I've heard all good things about that one. I think it has to do with the windage screws being a non-click type. I don't know how much faith I should have in the non-click design. The replacement seems better though and the adjustment screws seem stiffer.

I've read mixed reviews for the First Strike. In 2012 there was a YouTube review on it breaking under 12 gauge recoil. Apparently they redesigned it after those design flaws were seen.

Call Bushnell and they'll send you a new one. I bought one with a hi-rise mount for my Thureon Defense carbine (which doesn't have much jolt to it), will see if it's any good.

I have found the very same thing with my FirstStrike.

Mounted on a 22LR was no problem and then it spent some time on a Tavor that a friend has (worked just fine there), now that it is set atop a 12-1/2" barrelled 870 it fails to hold zero.

The windage keeps moving after a few rounds.

Think I will put it back on a .22 LR project and look for something a bit more robust for the 870.
