Bushnell holo vs eotech

I heard some where the Bushnell holo is made by eotech.

So is that true. Or is someone just trying to sell me a knockoff?

I am looking to mount it on my ar-15. 50-100yrd shots are most likely going to be my max.

Do I really need to spend the $600+ on a eotech or is the Bushnell holo a quality sight?

the holosight is indeed a legitimate site produced by L3. It has a different shroud on it but the guts are pretty much identical. They were discontinued a few years ago. I have one and it works pretty well with N batteries. The only gripe I have with mine is the lens has become a bit delaminated so the reticle is not clear if you look at it through an angle. If you have a good cheek weld its nice and clear.
