Bushnell laser boresighter for SKS?

Because I got a compact 2-6x28 scope for only $30 brand new here :). So I looked around for a scope mount and found a 5th Leapers receiver cover mount which has two screws to stablize the mount on the receiver for only $25 US shipped comparing with $59 CDN from Marstar...:) By only spending 60 bucks I might have a fairly decent scope set up, why not?

I'll still keep shooting iron sight, but the scope is just for some necessary situations. Plus I'm handloading my hunting ammo, without scope I can't tell the performance of different loads. From now on, no more mil surplus ammo down the pipe, no more!

Okay, here is why. When you put the scope on the gun you've got to boresight it. There're two different types of laser boresighter for SKS for this job. The Bushnell looks cheaper.:dancingbanana: :dancingbanana:

Hmmm all this time with my scoped rifles I have been sighting in on a target at 25 yards or so, usually after 5 rounds I can work on 100 yards...never thought of a bore sighter before, they seemed rather expensive.

I guess I have lucked out with the rifles and scopes I have done this with.

To be honest the hardest so far have been my .22's, but then again $20 of that stuff gives yah 500 rnds. :D

I say if you are using reloads that are similar to the milspec, then sight in with the cheaper milspec ammo, first. :D

Once I put the scope on, I don't want to put and corrosive mil surplus ammo through the barrel. Otherwise I've got to takek the receiver cover off again. I think my load is a little straighter than mil ammo.

Ok guys, I received all the stuffs for my SKS scope set up, a Leaper's 5th generation receiver cover mount, the 2-6x28 scope and Bushnell laser bore sighter.

The Leaper's I got from SKSMAN only cost me 25 USD comparing with MARSTAR's 50 CDN+tax&shipping. The scope cost me 30 CDN brand new from www.scope4sale.com who has a store in Richmond. The Bushnell laser bore sighter cost me $35 CDN+shipping/GST from Wholesalesports. So The total set up cost is so far way under $100! The bore sighter can be used for calibres from .22 to .50 and 12ga shotgun.

The scope mount looks quite promising giving that it has two screws on both sides to fit the mount firmly on the receiver and the receiver cover that comes with the mount fits tighter than the original cover. But you still need to do some filing work to get the cover to fit in. But it's easy.

Now I'm waiting for the week end to go to the range to test the scope. If the scope rectile could stand 30 to 40 shots and doesn't move at all, I will be glad that I had a great deal for the money. The bore sighter will sure save me a lot reload ammo.

The whole gun looks neat and is good to go for hunting. With all these extra stuff put on the gun doesn't weigh a lot differently.

Yup, IMHO some Canadian dealers are over pricing these parts.
One also knows it is bad when they start to see the parts cheaper at Gunshows. :D

If you think the scope being sold at MARSTAR is better than what I got for $30CAD ($25US I paid, now the website shows $37.95US which means the demand is rising), you will be very wrong. The same scope mount they sell on their website doubles what I paid to SKSMAN, and both are exactly the same. That's something I really don't understand. For the same stuffs you will find prices a lot cheaper than in Canada.
