Bushnell Legend 5-15x40 Mildot question...

Hello all. Well the question ISN'T "Should I buy it?" Since I already did, LOL!

Here's the deal. I was reading some review about the Bushnell Trophy 3-9x mildot scope, and they said on the scope 9 was Red, indicating the power to be on when calculating distance using the mildots.

So far I haven't had to guesstimate distance for anything, but that got me thinking. My Legend 5-15 doesn't have any numbers in Red. It has numbers like this: 5 6 7 8 9 . . 12 . . 15. I'm guessing the dots just save space, or are they supposed to tell me something?

Which power should my Bushnell Legend 5-15 scope be if I want to measure the distance to something down the range?

Thanks for any available help.

It doesn't say anything about it in the manual. The manual looks like a generic one... Just about mounting, zeroing, bore sighting, storage, and stuff like that. Doesn't mention Mildot reticle anywhere...
I'm waiting for this rain to go away, then I'll go to the range, and try to figure out how far a target is, and see if I'm anywhere close with it at 12X.
Can anyone confirm it's 12x, or something else?

Take a piece of paper and mark a letter I that measures 3.6 inches from top to bottom. Set it at approximately or exactly (if you can) at 100 yards or meters. Zoom the scope in and when the top line on the paper lines up with the middle of one dot and the bottom lines up with the dot beneath, that is your magnification setting for ranging. Hope this makes sense

Yep, that makes sense, thanks for the tip. I'll give it a try next week when I get to the range, there I'll set it to 100 yards, and try it out. Thanks a bunch!
