Hey there, I'm looking for some opinions on this as my first scope for a Rem 700 SPS DM in .300 Mag.

If you consider the Elite scopes to be the premium Bushnell product, then the Legend series is the top of the standard Bushnell line. Below the Legend line are the Trophy, Banner, and Sportsman lines.

While lacking some of the niceties of the upscale Elite 3200 scopes, the Legend line manages to incorporate a number of worthwhile features. For example, they are built on anodized aluminum alloy tubes, boast fully multi-coated optics and 91% light transmission, offer a reasonable 3.5" eye relief, wide field of view, and come with a matte black finish. Legend riflescopes are alleged to be shockproof, waterproof, and fogproof. They are sealed and dry Nitrogen filled. To make them user friendly there are fingertip windage and elevation adjustments, and a Euro-style fast focus eyepiece.

The windage and elevation adjustments click in 1/4 MOA increments. They are not as crisp as those in the premium Bushnell Elite scopes, but will suffice for most purposes.

The 5-15x40mm Legend feature a focusing front objective. These are varmint rifle scopes well suited to hitting small targets at extended ranges. The 5-15x model is supplied with a Mil Dot reticle and offers a finer center crosswire, which might be advantageous in a long range varmint scope.

So? What do you think? I know it's not as nice as the Elite series, but it sounds fairly competitive, and I really like the additional magnification. 15x is quite decent, and I'm looking at doing long-range shooting (not small targets, mind you).

I have a ledgend 2-7 x 32 & I love it , ocular focus opperates like butter as compared to my 3200 . & I find it to be much clearer I would definetly recomend the ledgend"s for the money .

Thanks mate :)

I went ahead and ordered it since no one said anything bad about it. I realize the legend line isn't as popular as the elite, etc, but it seems like a great scope...

thanks for the input, brother.

The Bushnell Legend scopes arent bad - They are pretty much the top of the old Bushnell line before they acquired B&L.

I only have a 2-7x40mm, but its held up as well as any other scope Ive owned and I'd definitely recommend them for the price. Its a lot clearer than you would expect from a lower-priced scope - not sure how clear the higher-powered models are however.

Mine has held up to a buffer-less Mini-14's recoil for quite a while, and they are notoriously brutal on scopes.

I have the 5-15 that you are looking at mounted on my Tikka 595, It is a good scope for the money and I have had 0 problems with it, nice and clear even with the sun in it.

Targets and hunting, works well for them.
:)
