Looking for a new scope to go on a new 270 I'm rigging up and need some help. I'm wondering how this scope would stack up against the old Elite 3200 in 3x9x40? Also been looking at Nikon Prostaff and Buckmaster and also Vortex Diamondback and Viper scopes although a friend says the guys down his way did't have much good to say abiut Vortex and the local dealer actually dropped the line.

For the money they seem to be as good a deal as you can get right now IMHO.

Light transmission isn't as good, but I think they are are a solid scope for the money, especially if they still have the Mail In Rebate on.

That said they are kinda bulky, and the AO isn't really necessary on a hunting scope.

Another good option is the Redfield scopes. Much lighter and more compact. Only complaint I have on them is the mushy adjustments but for a hunting scope that is gonna be set once, it isn't a deal breaker.

The cheaper Vortex scopes aren't that good, and I am not a fan. Their higher end stuff gets good reviews though, but I never took the chance.

Honestly the Redfield will prolly be my choice in the $250 price range.
