I have been eying the 3-12 lrhs in moa first focal plane. As a varmint target scope. Wondering how thick thee reticle is tho. I don’t like thick reticle. Also, this would be my first ffp scope. I don’t care for high powered scopes. 20 power and under is as high as I’d wanna go. Never liked having 24x scopes. What are the optics like on these lrhs models compared to Nightforce SHV and nxs or any other popular scopes

Other than the very early- perhaps first production run- the LRHS has never been available MOA. AFAIK.

The reticle is fantastic. One of the best for ‘cross-over’ use ever. But it was designed by two gents who really know their stuff- George Gardner & Pat Sinclair- so it should be great. :)

They are very good optically. Better than many HD/ED scopes I’ve owned and used. But more importantly, they track extremely well and are very durable.

Best of luck finding one! They are/were an excellent, very overlooked scope. One of mine went on a long walk yesterday, looking for a bear... ;)

It’s not too thick, IMO. But I’ve only owned the Mil version. We’ve shot 1-2 MOA and smaller plates out to 1800+ meters, with no problems. Not sure what the MOA Ret is like tho.

They're great little scopes. I don't have any more LRHS but I have 4 of the 3-12 LRTSi which is basically the same scope but the reticle doesn't have the "donut of death". They're tough and they track well. Good glass as well.

and the fact that bushnell listened to them to biult the way it is. i have two of them and with a picture seen below i have the itch to use more that at the range now ...

I;'ve got a 3-12 LRHS....pretty nice scope. Google earth says the mountain ridge I can see out of my living room window is 3 KM away. I can clearly make out individual hoof prints (goat) in the snow. Pretty much on par with my VX5HD 3-15 and Sightron SIII for clarity.

Found a pic online and the reticle looks too thick for me in that pic. The moar reticle is one of my favourites but only in nightforce. The vx5 has a sweet retiicle. The impact reticle.

That’s good clarity I’d say. Three Kim’s away looking st hoof prints!

if you have a chance, have a look for real and you may be surprised ... this is a reticle for hunting really.
