Hi I was getting some gear sorted out and and when i got my bushnell rangefinder out of my backpack which I used all of last 8 or 9 seasons eason without issue. This year the rubberized coating has turned all sticky, it looks like something I found in a dumpster. It works just fine but the entire exterior is coated with what feels like an uncured adhesive. If I press I can leave finger prints in it. I want to clean it up to keep as a backup unit to my new vortex rangefinder

It's about a 8 yo 9 year old unit, bushnell bowhunter Chuck Adam's edition.

I tried wiping it with a tiny bit of varsol but it did nothing to remove the coating

Did it get bug repellant spilled on it? I haven’t come up with a solution for that.
