Hey guys~I recently found a Scopechief I've been looking for, a fixed 2.75x with the Command Post feature that can be turned-on/off. Seller indicated that the function wasn't perfect, but it turns out it's not really operational at all. If you select "P" and shake the thing the right way..it may pop-up. If you select "+" it goes down every time. I'm still after a better copy (if you're reading this and have one :) ) but in the meantime, is there anyone OTHER than Bushnell in Canada who might have experience fixing these scopes?

I've read that Bushnell's customer service is inclined to send a cheap, modern replacement for these older Banners/Scopechief rather than repair them, but I'm curious to know if they work on these...or...if someone else in Canada specializes in these/could do the work, etc. Clearly, not a high-price scope in this condition, so I'm not sure what I'd be prepared to pay to fix it.

Thanks for taking a moment to reply.

Perhaps you could contact them and ask what they would do or what they would replace the scope with before sending it in.

On a side note, I have an old Scope Chief with the command post that worked intermittently for over 20 years. It usually would go up or down part way, then required some fiddling to get it all the way up or down. I put the post down and left it there for years. Several years ago I tried it again on a whim. It has worked flawlessly ever since!

Check Trace Scope Repair.

Phil is superb on repairs.
Call and ask his opinion.
He'll give you the goods straight up.
There is a Bushnell here that needs repair on a similar issue as yours and I am certain Bushnell will replace it with something current that doesn't replicate the scope now.
I am amost certain Phil can fix this for a reasonable cost repair.

Give him an opportunity of at least a phone call.

i tried to send one away about 10 years ago to be repaired ......

the conversation on the phone went something to the effect .... they can't repair it ( as in unable too ) , they won't warranty it , and they will not send a replacement and if i wanted it returned i had to pay the postage .

I bought a 1.5-4.5 Scopechief with Command Post in mid 70's. Been mounted on a 3006 BAR ever since. I'm totally impressed with clarity ,repeat ability of adjustments etc. I've never had a problem with mine but I certainly understand why you want to have it repaired. Great piece of kit!

Sounds like my last scopechief. No warranty due to age. Told them to throw it in the garbage instead of paying for postage to get it home.
