Bushnell Scopechief VI, whats a modern scope it can compared too ??

just got a scopechief on a rifle, and dont know much about them . what series of modern scope can it be compared too ??

Bushnell 4200. Although modern coatings and assembly methods are vastly improved, back in the day the VI was Bushnell's top of the line. - dan

I sent in a Scopechief for repair once and Bushnells compairson was to a 3200 series ...

It may have been the top of the line in its day, but in today's line I would compare it to a trophy or legend.

If the lenses and coatings of a 25 years old Scopechief are comparable to a 3200 or 4200, that doesn't say much for the new ones...

Yes - They were a good scope in their day, but that was several decades ago. Thats a long time - seals go, purge is lost, adjustment mechanisms wear, etc. Dont get me wrong, I have several of them - but I dont consider them a "front-line" scope.

thanks for all the replies. Ill probably end up keeping the scope on the rifle . I guess its a better scope than i thought. its still in good shape and i dont mind the clarity. i just wont feel so bad if it gets a couple scars. how old is it ? it cant be 25 years old or maybe it can
