bushnell service

who is the bushnell service department in canada?

I used them about two months ago. I sent in a pair of binoculars that were off set (seeing double). They had been dropped and bounced around a lot in about 12 years of usage. I contacted them, filled in the necessary paperwork and sent it to them in Vaughan. They sent me back new binoculars. The service was quick and friendly. Outstanding.

I still have all the coordinates of the person I spook to. If you require the info, send me a PM and I will be more than happy to share it with you.

Old thread but I'll post my results with Bushnell CS. Not the best, sent them a Japanese made Bushnell rimfire scope, which they won't repair as it's older than their lifetime Warranty. It's made in 1980, lifetime warranty didn't start until 1984. They offered to sell me a replacement scope, a Simmons POS, not a comparable replacement IMO, and that I'd be paying for it sealed the non-deal.

They won’t be getting any more of my $$.
One scope I should of sent to Phil at Trace Scope Repair.
It would of been fixed and sent back to me instead of the riggmahroll Bushnull put me thru.
Then it happened again.
The riggmuhroll.

Had 1 interaction with bushnell warranty and it was fine. Sent a trail camera in that didn't recognize when an SD card was inserted and they sent me a new camera.

Leupold may not be the best optics but having had nothing but excellent service the few times I had to send in for repairs, I find it hard not to choose their products first. Bushnell was not bad. The worst was Swavorski. Never, ever will I buy their over priced products again.

I have had nothing but OUTSTANDING service from SONA. I've sent in a total of 14 scopes over the last 6 years to have reticules changed (I need the #4 or #4A nowadays; Swarovski discontinued their #1 reticules a while ago] & EVERY single time I have had nothing but great service from them. They always do a complete check, service & argon purge at the same time at no additional charge.

This past fall I sent in an older scope (~1972) that had had the ocular housing & lenses crushed. The rebuilding cost was much less than a used Leupold. It came back with a new housing, new lenses, new seals, they also replaced the objective lens assembly; essentially a new ~$2,500 scope, for $350.00US.

The only downside is the wait to have them sent back to Austria (2-3 months), but only for the Kahles scopes. Everything else is serviced in Rhode Island, including the older steel-tube Habichts.

You set up an account, complete a service request, they email you a pre-paid Fedex label, you box it up, drop it off & they email you when the scope is received, then wait.

Granted, it's not free, but what in life of quality ever is!

There's another 3 scopes to be sent this fall to have the reticles changed to #4A's.

Putting my money where my mouth is, I sold my 3 S&B scopes given their lack of CS for a scope older than 25 years; Zeiss sucks the big one to have a reticle change-over (+$500), especially on a +25 y.o. scope. As a result, I now only own 1. Hensoldt is now owned by Airbus & they will not work on their older scopes [I now only own 1], leaving me with only one option for Alpha-class scopes. (Well, actually 2, but Kahles has been owned by Swarovski for a few years now)

Leupold CS is a joke. I phoned Korth to have a reticule change done on a VariX-II. They said based on the serial number it's too old. But they would give me $50 off the cost of a new one, however, it would not come with the reticule I wanted, so I would have to add the cost of the reticule change to the price of the scope, plus shipping.

Not too many years ago, Bushnell did reticule changes, but not any more. I don't think their Canadian Service department actually does any service work. Defective scope comes in, gets thrown into the garbage bin and a new Made in PRC scope gets sent out.

The one and only time I dealt with leupold was enough. Never, even with third world CS have I dealt with worse. Explained the situation, rude and ignorant, then hung up on me, leaving me stunned staring at my phone. Had to get a permit from Bureaucrats in Ottawa, mail it to Portland Oregon. Paid $50usd for return. THEY DID NOTHING.

Sold all my leupold, never supporting them again, if it means so much as phoning Korth. Actually have one leupold, a.vari 1 3-9, some scratches, on my father's last rifle. I'm going to sell that one soon, cheap.

The one time I was forced by a unethical, site protected member to use Bushnell, they were excellent.

i had issues in the past with korth and needed to deal with oregon and they fixed mostly everything but they never wanted to do the reticle change i wanted ... now it is better with korth and the last batch i sent was fixed properly.
