I saw an advertisement for a second hand Bushnell Spacemaster in camoflage finish, the other day. I have owned one of the old "interchangeable eye piece" x50mm Spacemasters for many years now and have been very happy with it. However, I hear very good things about the x60mm Spacemasters, and would love to pick one up.
Here is the rub. The scope has the 15-45x magnifacation eyepiece, but the owner doesn't know if it is x50 or x60mm. The asking price is $199.00, which would be very good for a x60, but only average for a x50. The scope has a rubberized camoflage armour, but is not a pattern I could find anywhere on the internet (more of a "woodland pattern" than "mossy oak" or "real tree").
So, my question to the discerning members, is: is there any way I could tell the gentleman where, on the scope or eyepiece (he has no paperwork) to look to find the x50 or x60mm designation? He says there is no marking in this regard on the eyepiece. Is this perhaps indicative of its properties?
Thank you in advance!
