Anyone have opinion on these scopes? Local gun shop has these and says they are good, I need something for a M14, thanks

For Bushnell go 3200 minimum, this is very general and i don't know much about rifle, but quality goes up alot when you go 3200 or 4200.

I have had one for years. It started out on a .270, then on a 30-06 and currently resides on a 338 win mag. It has been on my 338 for three years with no problems. It is not as nice as my Leupold VX-1 but cant replace it if its not broken.

got one on my 30-06 the past 4 years. i pack and take that gun everywhere always holds zero never had a problem

I have a Trophy Red/Green Dot optical gun sight. It works very well on my Mini-14. At 100 yds, I get 4" groups with 0 magnification Red Dot. That's good enough for the girls I go out with!!!

I had one of the new Trophy scopes made in the Philipines (did I spell that right?) for about 4 years. It worked fine, optics were bright and I found it to be clear. The original Trophy series were made in South Korea, I think. This is going back to the mid 1990's. They had a heavier tube, and it was a great scope (just try to find a used one for sale, today). The Philipine Trophys are about half the weight for some reason, but again I found mine to work great, too.

Hope this info helps.

I have one for 15 years 2x7 32mm glass is very clear, very good scope. I looked through few new ones at the store and must say it is much loer quality. Glass clarity is not the same it is sort of good at the center but 1/3 on the edge is bad.

Unless for 22rifle i would not recommend newly made trophy scope

Although I upgraded my Trophy to a 3200, I kept the Trophy and moved it to another gun. I also have a 2nd Trophy on its way. I think they are a good value in a scope (but a 3200 is better). As for fogging on the outside from your breath, I always wipe the lenses with a lens cloth and RainX before I go out in cold or wet conditions.

I've had a Trophy on my Anschutz .22 rifle for probably 6-7 years now, it's been an awesome scope for the money. Doesn't see any direct rainfall (used in a covered range 99% of the time) so I can't comment on how well it holds-up to more rigorous use.

The 4-12x40 I have on my 10/22 is OK. I would be hesitant to put one on any rifle with significant recoil, though. M14s will eat cheap scopes due to the nature of their recoil.

I've owned older Bushnell Trophy riflescopes, always in a 3-9x40mm configuration in the past. I had them on .300 and .338 Winchester magnums and on .50 caliber muzzleloaders and never once had a single problem with any of them. I have a new model XLT as yet mounted but never fired. It seems to be an improved version of the old model with a one piece tube. (The old model has the windage and elevation housing added on) Optically, the glass is very clear and does not have the amber coating the old model had. I belive I read somewhere this new model is fully coated.

Mine is a less common Trophy variant, no longer available: 1.5-6x44 with a 30mm tube, German No.4 reticle, made in Korea. It works well on one of my Enfield No.4s, good enough for my hunting and for what I paid I feel I got a good enough scope. But certainly, for a bit more money you can get better from Bushnell and other makers.

I have two, one mounted on a Rem. 7400 30.06, the other on a Rem. 700 30.06 and of the 30 or so guns I own, that 700 with the trophy is in my moose and deer stand everytime, never missed an animal with it. great value IMO.
