I've never owned a red dot but am looking for a close range scope (80yds max) for baited bear hunting from a stand. Problem is I need a long eye releif (4-6") scope as scope mounting is an issue on my rifle. Not looking to break the bank on a scope for this gun (Browning BLR 81) and most of the lower power scopes I've looked at have circle-X rectical, not my cup of tea. I am now considering a red dot as eye-releif is advertised a "unlimited". Just looking for info if a red dot is the way to go considering shots may be at the end of day in low light.
