Looking for a scope for a Savage MK II for mostly 50 and 100 yards. Now before anyone starts starts telling me about AO being needed I dont feel the need to spend any more for it on this gun, and haven't had an issue with my other guns at 50m.

Dont want to spend more than $200 as its just for the range.

Vortex Crossfire 4-12 is $150.

Bushnell Trophy XLT 4-12 is $180.

I have had good luck with Bushnell and have had a scope replaced by them under warranty without hassle.

I am hearing good things about Vortex though but not sure about the lower end stuff.

Thanks
Mark

I've got a Trophy XLT 4-12. Its a good scope for what I paid. I really have no complaints about it. Obviously I could spend 3x the money and get better scope.

For the same money (or less) take a look at the new Nikon Prostaff II. I recently bought one, and also I have a Trophy XLT. Both are nice, especially for the price. However, the Prostaff II really looks brilliant. Get the BDC reticle too.

I have had many bushnells and never had any problems with them. I dont have any experience with the vortex but hear they are good. I currently have a trophy XLT on my muzzzloader and I am quite pleased with it.
