I'm looking to buy a red dot sight for my Rem 870, and I'm looking to spend about ~$175. I'm leaning towards the TRS-25, but am unsure if it's designed to take the recoil of a 12 gauge. Does anyone have experience with this setup? Any other red dots that compare in the same price range? Thanks for the help.

If you want to spend that Vortex might be a good choice.

That said you can get a Bushnell TRS 25 for under $100 stateside, if you can find a company to ship it to you.

Just ordered two trs-25's from b&h - slick as anything as they take care of duties and taxes on their end ($22 and change). Worked out I got 2 for the price of one this side of the border.

$79.99 US plus $8.25 shipping to ont (and then duty) Thats a good price!!I have been looking to get one of those or the vortex sparc...this sure makes it an easy decision for me .

Thanks for the tip :)

Or a Canadian dealer made an inquiry to bushnell based on the fact that their cost is more then retail prices in the US.

If your budget is close to $200 I'd go for the Sparc because of the lifetime transferable no hassle guarantee.

I had one mounted on my 870 and the back glass fell out, It was in cold temperatures, I contacted the bushnell office in Richmondhill just north of Toronto, i had no reciept and was not the original purchaser and they got a new one shipped to me within two weeks. It now sits on my ar with no problems as of yet.
