Bushnell TRS-25 what are your thoughts?

I read a lot of good reviews in the thing.....

What are your thoughts ?

held one in the store. meh. it WORKS but i wouldn't pay theh $170 or so for it. i hate looking through a donut - i'd prefer a reflex sight that has minimal obstruction, like the Burris FastFire
 
Yep - excellent optic. I have two and they definitely work well. Good battery life for an optic in this price range too. They do have a small field of view as do all of the micro optics, but, you get a very lightweight trade-off because of that. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.
 
I use one on my Ruger SR22. They are built solid. I do have one complaint. The battery compartment is located inside the on/off/intensity adjustment knob. One of the positive features is that the knob has enough friction that you won't be able to turn the sight on by accident. I find that the friction is so great on the knob that I often end up turning the battery cap loose instead. That's about the only complaint I have.

On a side note, the front lens is suppose to be on an angle. I thought mine is busted when I noticed the weird angle and a little bit of the glue mark. After a trip back to the store, reassurance from the salesman, and comparison with the store model, I feel pretty silly about bringing up the issue.

The price is definitely high here especially when they are on sale for around 80-90 bucks in the US.
 
I've have 2 of them, excellent battery life, quality construction, holds zero well. The dot could be sharper but for less than $200 its a great buy. imo
 
I have a Sparc and a TRS-25. I've not had any problems with either though I have read a number of posts about broken Sparc. Never read one about a busted TRS-25.

I greatly prefer the TRS-25 to the Sparc. I'd buy another TRS-25, I wouldn't buy another Sparc.
 
I guess the sparc does come with more options- NV compatibility, lifetime warrarnty, 2x magnifier and mount. So for the 30-50 dollar difference it may be a better deal. I Bushnell TRS-25 only has a 2 year warranty, no mount no magnifier

TRS comes with a low profile mount, works great on my Swiss Arms CQB - much better than spending $$$ on an aimpoint for me

Sure, it has a mount. Just not a multi-height set like the Sparc.

The NV option is a novelty for the vast majority of users and I found the magnifier to be practically useless due to the tiny FOV.
 
I have one on a .44 Mag Redhawk and it works quite well. Nice and light. Holding zero isn't a problem even with full loads of 240 and 265 grainers. I have been impressed with it so far. :)
 
I have both and much prefer the Sparc. It is a better design, with more features and adjustable risers. Co-witness' with ar sights, has magnification as well. I find the bushnell is too low for me and also looks like a cheaper made optic. It has seemed to function well but I would rather the SPARC any day plus vortex has great customer service, bushnell service is also really good too but much slower, they have only 3 repair techs that have to service all of the Tasco, Simmons, Bushnell products so it is a min. time of 3 months but more likely longer.
