I have a Savage II fvsr 22 that I use for target shooting at 25 and 50 yrds. The scope I have on there now is a Simmons 3-9x32 without AO. I would like to get a better scope with AO, do not want to spend more that $300.00. Been looking at the following 2 scopes:

Bushnell Trophy 4-12x40 AO #754120.

Vortex Crossfire II 4-12x40 AO, #CF2-31019

Which of the two scopes do you think would be better, the Bushnell is a little bit cheaper in price.

Thanks.

I have the crossfire model you are listing. I had it on a 17hmr and it worked fine. It currently sits on a 7mm rem mag and is holding up fine surprisingly. I find the cross hairs are thick, so i didn't like it when shooting at 50 yards

Ive owned lots of both brands.. Vortex all the way.. The Bushnell Products just don't Stand up and look cheap. IMO.. I have Crossfires Diamondbacks and Vipers? they are a Great product.. glass is a bit better as you go up but the Crossfire you have is a really nice Scope.. get it mounted with a nice set of rings.. and you be happy. don't cheap out on rings either.
