Hi,

Need some assistance. I have a Nightforce NXS 8-32x56mm with a sun shade on. I have tried the Size 18 for the eye and Size for 48 for the objective.
Size 48 will not even fit the sunshade. Size 18 will fit over the eye side but quite a bit of force was needed to flip open the cover.

What size flip up cover is the right for this NXS scope? I am hoping the I do not have to bring the rifle to a store to match the cover with the scope.

Thanks for the help.

I would suggest getting a vernier caliper (something every gun guy needs anyway) and measure the eye and obj, go to the butler creek website and find your size. Always go to the bigger size if you fit in the middle. I would say you just need to go one size bigger.

I have a vernier caliper and measured the outside portion of eyepiece, not the ocular lens itself on a NF NXS 3.5-15X50. Based on the measurement, according to the chart that came with the scope cover, size 20 was the one required. Lucky enough I was in a store who sold NF scopes and actually tried a size 20 cover and it was way too big. The 18 was the one that fit. If I had to go by what the caliper indicated, I would have been ####ed.

Talk to a Nightforce dealer. If they sell a lot of scopes, they will know which covers fit properly. If they don't,they should at least have the scope to test fit the covers.

There are different charts on the internet for the Nightforce scope . However, Butler Creek does not have the larger size chart on their website.
Looks like I have to bring my scope to the store - just to be sure.
