How short is the stock, my buddy wants to but one on a compact model and does not want to to be as long as the standard stock.

would make the barrel look to short and stupid according to him,

any one have a compact with one?

If he's putting it on a compact(youth) 10/22 from Ruger, the barrel length isn't long enough to meet the OAL requirements for a non-restricted rimfire. I'm going through the samething, check out the thread I've made to see how it would look with the compact's ~16.5" barrel. Just gotta decide what to do with it.
