Buttpad to fit boyds stock?

I tried emailing boyds this question, and the response I got was completely unhelpful, so I turn to the internet!

I have a boyds laminate stock on an X-bolt that I would like to replace the current crappy small pad with a limbsaver of pachmayr pad. Has anyone done this with one of the pre fit pads, and if so what model fits?

I assume they would have a standard size buttpad that they use with most of their stocks, but their customer service just tried to get me to buy a grind to fit. I have a hard time believing that a company that churns out that many stocks that they grind the buttpad separately to fit every stock they sell.

If you want the pad to fit the stock that is exactly how it is done... All the stock makers do that...

Not to mention the buttstock will need to be shortened for the longer buttpad IOT maintain the same length of pull.
