I've been trying to take the buttstock off and once I get the plate off go to remove the screw/bolt that holds the stock on, I can't get the darned thing off. I've tried several screwdrivers and they just won't get this thing to budge. I'm afraid if I try any more I'll strip the damned head. I tried a socket wrench but couldn't get an extension piece long enough to reach. Ideas?

Put a couple of extensions together to get your socket to the bolt head and you should be good to go. Better leverage with a socket and less chance of stripping bolt head. Good luck.

What may help is hitting the head of the screw squarely.. A hammer and a flat blunt object (socket extension) should work, this usually breaks the threads loose and allows it to turn easily with a screwdriver...Works in the automotive industry all the time...good luck...

To get mine off I just went down to the hardware store and picked up the biggest and longest flat head screwdriver they had. Works like a charm. Its found many more uses. Well worth the money.

Indeed. I use my Canadian Tire $3 special on all my shotgun stocks. Never had one beat me yet.

i tried one more big screwdriver before i went ahead and bought a long 1/2 inch extender. the extender did its job and the pistol grip is installed. thanks y'all.
